Le Centre des arts actuels Skol est un organisme à but non-lucratif qui présente le travail d’artistes et de théoriciens de la relève, en favorisant ceux dont l’exploration intuitive est soutenue par une réflexion critique. La programmation thématique qui invite à Faire comme si tout allait bien, développée pour célébrer les 20 ans de Skol, reflète d’ailleurs cette tension continue entre l’intuition et la réflexion, entre la tradition et l’innovation qui est au centre de la praxis du centre d’artistes. À l’occasion de Viva! art action, Skol s’associe aux artistes Patric Lacasse et Alexis Bellavance en collaboration avec Theodor di Ricco, directeur de la galerie SoToDo à Berlin, pour présenter la 14e édition du Congrès SoToDo (Something To Do). Plus de 30 artistes d’Europe, d’Asie et des Amériques participeront à une représentation complexe du ici et maintenant à travers autant d’actions individuelles et collectives aux intentions et valeurs parfois divergentes et contradictoires. La galerie, le Bain St-Michel et d’autres espaces dont la zone liminale est située entre le singulier et le collectif se transforment en laboratoire vivant pour une exploration critique des pratiques qui utilisent le temps comme espace de création. Une table ronde intitulée Vers de nouveaux modèles de collaboration artistique réunit le théoricien Stephen Wright et les artistes Maria Mouriès, Devora Neumark et Lisa Ndejuru pour une conversation théorique aux idées provocantes. Enfin, du 3 au 21 octobre, Patric Lacasse et Alexis Bellavance seront en résidence à Skol où ils produiront une installation réalisée à partir de la documentation accumulée tout au long de Viva! art action.

Centre des arts actuels Skol is a non-profit organisation that presents the work of emerging artists whose intuitive explorations are grounded in critical thought. This year’s special 20th anniversary programming that invites artists to act As If All Were Well reflects this ongoing tension between the intuitive and reflexive, the traditional and innovative that is at the core of artist-run culture. As part of Viva! Art Action, Skol is proud to join with artist tandem Patric Lacasse and Alexis Bellavance, and Theodor di Ricco, director of SoToDo Gallery, to present the 14th edition of the SoToDo (Something To Do) Congress. More than 30 performance artists from Europe, Asia, and the Americas will shape a complex representation of the Here and Now via their individual and collective actions and their sometimes divergent and contradictory intentions and values. The gallery, the Bain St-Michel and other sites including the liminal zone between the singular and the collective become temporary living laboratories for the exploration of time-based practice. A thought provoking panel discussion entitled Toward New Models for Artistic Collaboration brings together theorist Stephen Wright and artists Maria Mouriès, Devora Neumark and Lisa Ndejuru. Lastly, artists Lacasse and Bellavance, who will be in residence at Skol from October 3 to 21, will produce an installation using material recorded throughout Viva! Art Action.
